Claude Pricing
Separate subscriptions for a user-facing product from usage-based API billing. They buy different access and should not be treated as interchangeable budgets.
#Subscription questions
Consider individual versus team use, expected usage and collaboration requirements. Check which features and usage limits the actual plan includes rather than assuming access from a feature's name.
#API questions
Estimate request volume, model requirements and any tool-related charges. Evaluate model tiering, shorter relevant context and supported prompt caching for repeated prefixes.
#Match the decision to the job
Knowledge work through the product calls for a subscription comparison. Shared work may justify team features. Product/backend integration requires an API cost model; a website subscription price is not an estimate for it.
#Check current terms
Prices, allowances and eligibility change. Use the current Anthropic pricing/help pages and the account's actual terms rather than fixing unverified figures into a long-lived guide.
