See where you stand and what's missing, free

Tell us where you are now, where you want to go and how many hours a week you have. No sign-up needed to see your first result; create an account only when you want to keep it or continue on another device.

The conversation stays in this browser tab and is gone when you close it. Nothing is kept until you choose "Save my profile": without an account it is kept for 30 days, and after you sign up you confirm it before it moves into your account.

How it works

  1. Pick your situation: student, working, changing careers, or not sure yet.
  2. Answer a few questions. For a specific role, go through the requirements its role page lists and mark each one: I have it, not yet, or not sure.
  3. Your result builds up on the right. Every line says what it is based on, and anything that can't be judged yet says what would show it.

What the result contains

  • Suggested directions: 2–3, each with the reason and main requirements
  • Where you are · where you want to go: each line with its source
  • What's missing: grouped as skill, evidence, experience, expression and positioning
  • Suggested plan: sized to the hours you have each week
  • Make it more accurate: upload a resume, compare with a real job ad, take a short quiz

Suggested plan

You didn't say how many hours a week you have, so this uses the smallest load. Tell us your time and it will be re-planned. This plans the three things for week one first: once they are done, the role requirements and resume gaps are clear, and the following weeks can be planned.

  1. Week 1

    Positioning

Find 3 real job ads you would apply for and copy out their requirements line by line.

    Expression

Use Job Hunter to compare your resume with the job ad and mark the missing skills and evidence.

    Experience

Courses and projects that close a gap

  • ExperienceP3 team project

Why: Fills the internship or project experience gap: a team project, written on a resume as a project, not as an internship.

When to come back and adjust

If you have less time, your goal changes, or you can't finish a week's deliverable, change your answers and the plan changes with them.
